Michael Prysock is a singer-songwriter-fourth generation musician. Prysock was deeply affected by life in rural Arkansas, and through his music, he tells achingly true tales of the influences of his family and the brotherhood of friends that helped raise him. Prysock skips the clichéd heart songs of romance and moves purposefully to lyrics that convey real struggle and the authenticity of living.
Prysock attended college in Arkansas in the 90s and sang in the all-African American choir, earning the friendship and respect of the rhythm and blues chorale. Shortly after college, Prysock was introduced to folk music by his uncle, the late, profound Joseph Campbell.
In this genre and with the encouragement of his Uncle Joe, Prysock found his first true loves in John Prine, Guy Clark, Fred Eaglesmith and Townes Van Zandt.
Uniquely talented and masking a rare personal
humility not often seen in todays contemporary
musical bravado, Prysock is a spirited
one-man-band, providing vocals, guitar and
harmonica to a raw soundtrack of small-town life.
Prysock resides in Dallas with his wife, Carrie.

Michael was declared the winner, after enduring nearly three months of competition and going up against 50 other great singer-songwriters - all with original music each and every week.!
Michael has met tons of great people that have been enormously supportive of his music.
Rusty Wier was a popular folk singer from Texas, known for spirited tunes like “Don’t It Make You Wanna Dance?” Wier’s legend grew after his death in 2009.
